2001 Fender Standard Stratocaster in Blue Agave with a maple fretboard, and this one has been babied for 25 years. It's mint, plain and simple, which is not something you say often about a guitar this old. Blue Agave was a short lived color on the Mexican Standards and it looks fantastic against the maple board. Underneath it's the classic Standard formula: alder body, maple neck with the modern C profile, 9.5 inch radius, 21 medium jumbo frets, and a six saddle synchronized tremolo. The upgrade is where it gets interesting, since it's been fitted with a genuine Fender Player Series loaded HSS pickguard, meaning Player Series Alnico 5 single coils in the neck and middle and an Alnico 2 humbucker in the bridge, with Fender pots and a five way switch and a dedicated tone control for the bridge. That gets you all the Strat chime you'd expect plus a bridge position with real weight behind it, so it covers a lot more ground than a stock Standard does. Finished off with Fender branded soft touch knobs.
